Welcome to Daily Life Notes. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at dailylifenotes.pro (the "Site"), operated by Marcus Tan from Singapore. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

Daily Life Notes is a personal blog publishing essays, reading recommendations, and related material about everyday life in Singapore. Content reflects the personal views and experiences of Marcus Tan unless otherwise stated. The Site is provided for informational and reading purposes. It does not constitute professional advice of any kind, including legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice.

2. Acceptance and eligibility

You may use the Site if you can form a binding contract under applicable law and you comply with these Terms. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation. The Site is not directed at children under thirteen; by using the Site you represent that you meet this age requirement or have appropriate parental consent.

3. Intellectual property

3.1 Our content

Unless otherwise noted, all text, photographs, graphics, layout, and other materials on the Site are owned by Marcus Tan or used with permission and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Daily Life Notes name, tagline, and associated branding elements are part of the Site's identity and may not be used in a manner that suggests endorsement or affiliation without written permission.

3.2 Permitted use

You may read, download, and print individual pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to pages on the Site using the URL without modification. Short quotations from essays for purposes such as review, commentary, or academic citation are permitted with clear attribution to Marcus Tan and Daily Life Notes, including a link to the original page where practical.

3.3 Restrictions

Without prior written consent, you may not:

• Reproduce, republish, or distribute substantial portions of the Site or its content for commercial purposes
• Modify, translate, or create derivative works from Site content except as allowed by applicable fair dealing or fair use law
• Remove copyright notices or attribution

You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use the content of your message solely for the purpose of reading, responding, and maintaining records of correspondence. We do not claim ownership of your ideas submitted in private correspondence.

You must not use our contact channels to send spam, malware, threats, harassment, or unlawful material. We may filter or ignore submissions that appear automated or abusive.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Marcus Tan and Daily Life Notes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for use of the Site in the twelve months preceding the claim, or zero if the Site was used without charge. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Marcus Tan from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or embed third-party content such as Google Maps on the contact page after cookie consent. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Marcus Tan regarding use of the Site and supersede prior agreements or understandings on the same subject.
